The Frisco, Utah Tee's Story

Frisco is a small mining town in southwestern Utah. In the late 1800's, Frisco was developed as the post office & commerical center for the San Francisco Mining District. When the Horn Silver Mine was discovered in 1875, Frisco rapidly became a mining boomtown, producing zinc, copper, lead, silver, & gold. This rise in prosperity attracted miners & the riffraff that came with. Saloons & murder were common in Frisco, giving it the reputation of the wildest town in the Great Basin. The glory was short-lived - in 1885, the Horn Silver Mine collapsed, effectively drying up the towns profitable resources. Largely abandoned & dilapidated for more than a century, Frisco is considered the ghost town of a once lively & wild mining community.

While there's no shortage of t-shirt shops around, we've committed to going our own way. It's that type of thinking that led us off-roading and in search of new iconic routes in the first place (much to our wive's delight). Read more...
