The Cherohala Tee's Story

Cherohala Skyway is a 43-mile National Scenic Byway that crosses through the Cherokee & Nantahala National Forests, from which its name was derived - Chero-hala. This skyway has become popular among motocycling & sportscar enthusiasts for it's long sweeping corners & scenic views of the North Carolina mountains & deeply forested Tennessee backcountry through which this highway passes. Desolate & often dangerous, this road offers little civilization & barely any facilities - a risky endeavor for any adventerous enthusiast.

The Cherohala Skyway was opened and dedicated in 1996. The road has been designated a National Scenic Byway. The road cost over 100 million dollars to construct. The Cherohala Skyway crosses through the Cherokee National Forest in Tennessee and the Nantahala National Forest in North Carolina. The name “Cherohala” comes from the names of the two National Forests: “Chero” from the Cherokee and “hala” from the Nantahala. The Cherohala Skyway is located in southeast Tennessee and southwest North Carolina. The Skyway connects Tellico Plains, Tennessee, with Robbinsville, North Carolina, and is about 40+ miles long. The Cherohala Skyway is a wide, paved 2-laned road maintained by the Tennessee Department of Transportation and the North Carolina Department of Transportation. The elevations range from 900 feet above sea level at the Tellico River in Tennessee to over 5400 feet above sea level at the Tennessee-North Carolina state line at Haw Knob.

Along with multiple vistas and overlooks, the skyway provides easy vehicular access to various protected and recreational areas of the Unicoi Mountains, including the Citico Creek Wilderness, the Bald River Gorge Wilderness, and the remote interior of the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest.

The drive along Cherohala Skyway is a scenic beauty right from the start. The best part of this scenic byway through a mountain wilderness is there are no public or private services along the Cherohala Skyway. Make sure you fill your gas tank, take along extra water and something to eat, you will want to includes a midday picnic at one of the many overlook picnic areas. The abundance of overlooks along the way will open your mind to appreciate the wonders of the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountain’s high country.

It begins with printing on the best machines. Our state-of-the-art direct to garment digital printing and high volume screen printing systems, ensure that each shirt printed is on mark. With the ability to produce both high volume quantities or single, one-off custom shirts, we know that each and every shirt needs to be perfect.

We love t-shirts, but have come to understand that not all t-shirts love us. Poor quality construction in seems and low quality cotton can leave you with a tee that's better suited as an oil rag. We don't just want our t-shirts to look awesome, but feel awesome when worn.

While there's no shortage of t-shirt shops around, we've committed to going our own way. It's that type of thinking that led us off-roading and in search of new iconic routes in the first place (much to our wive's delight). Read more...
